Dr Aparna Lal
Dr Lal has a multidisciplinary science background, with two postgraduate degrees in Wildlife Science and Ecology, a PhD in Public Health and qualifications in Environmental Law and Zoology. Her work is informed by not only her expertise in the natural and health sciences, but also from having lived and worked in three countries (India, New Zealand and Australia). Her work focuses on how a focus on human well-being can improve outcomes of environmental restoration, and how the multiple health and well-being benefits of environmental protection can be measured and integrated into policy. She uses high level statistical modelling and best-practice open science, with a consistent focus on equity to increase opportunities for the next generation of scientists.
