Dr Sabrina Caldwell
I love this University and our College. It is a privilege and a joy to be surrounded by brilliant colleagues and bright, enthusiastic students, each with a will to make a positive difference in the world. I have that will too, and I know that with my 20 years’ experience in teaching, research, and service to the University, I have much to contribute to the Academic Board on behalf of our College. Being a founder of NECTAR, the University’s network for early career researcher and teachers, taught me the importance of leading from wherever you stand. Participating in boards and committees such the ACT Ministerial Advisory Council for Women and JPEG Trust taught me that beneficial change in the world is possible but requires teamwork, time and persistence. Teaching thousands of students has taught me that a teacher must never stop learning. Having contributed to the Academic Board as a substitute member last year prepared me for the weight of responsibility such a role entails. I look forward to bringing my vision, experience and leadership to the Academic Board, to support our College’s important place in the University, and our University’s important place in the world.
