Mr Edan Habel

Mr Edan Habel is a PhD candidate at the Research School of Chemistry (RSC). His work is primarily on engineering novel proteins using non-canonical amino acid incorporation and machine learning strategies. 

Mr Habel sits on both the RSC Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Access (IDEA) and RSC HDR committee, and won the 2022 Students/Postdoctoral Fellows RSC Director’s Award. He was the inaugural HDR Officer for ANUSA in 2023 after ANUSA restructured to include postgraduate students, and sat as the student representative on the ANU HDR and the University Research committees. Previously, Mr Habel was a departmental officer at the Office of the Gene Technology Regulator at the Australian Department of Health.
