Nicole King

Senior Manager, Student and Education Support

Nicole has over thirty years' experience in secondary and higher education in both academic and professional roles.  Nicole's career began in teaching Music and Drama in secondary schools. Her 20 years teaching experience gained her many achievements including the highly prestigious National Excellence in Teaching Award (NEITA Foundation) in 1998 and again in 2001 for Excellence in Secondary School Teaching presented by the Minister of Education.

Prior to commencing at the ANU in 2019, Nicole managed the International Education Program for the ACT Government Education Directorate for ten years. This included maintaining the welfare provision for over 500 international students under the age of 18 enrolled in ACT Government schools and providing expert curriculum reform to ensure the success of this vulnerable cohort.

This experience has provided Nicole with an excellent background in managing the diverse needs of students of all ages and disciplines. During her four years at ANU, Nicole continues to support students and staff by transforming and leading the ANU College of Law Student and Education Support portfolio. Nicole is passionate about continuous improvement in student experience and in taking a more strategic role in the University to affect change.
