Professional Staff Member Elections to Academic Board 

Report of the Returning Officer on the election of two members of Academic Board by Members of the Professional Staff of the University 2024

The 2024 election of two members of Academic Board by members of the professional staff of the University was held in accordance with the Academic Board Protocol 2021. 

Eight candidates were nominated for election to Academic Board. All candidates and their nominators were checked against the professional staff roll comprising of eligible professional staff members who held their appointment on payday 14 March 2024 and were paid a salary on that day. All nominations were in order. 

The candidates were Sarah Adams, Zoe Bowman, Mark Cook, Marie Katselas, Nicole King, Samitha Ramanayake, Sue Sharpe and Kathryn Smith. 

An electronic ballot was conducted using the University’s APOLLO system. By close of the Poll at 5pm on Friday 26 April 2024, 417 professional staff had registered a vote. 

The scrutiny of the electronic count was conducted by the Returning Officer (Ms. Emma Murrell) via Zoom teleconference at 2pm on Monday 29 April 2024. Ms Leslie McDonald from the Corporate Governance and Risk Office verified the results from the count. 

Following the count of preferences, I declare the following elected for a 2-year term commencing 2 May 2024: 

• Zoe Bowman
• Sue Sharpe
