Professor Craig Moritz

Professor Craig Moritz is an evolution biologist, with a focus on how Australia’s remarkable biodiversity has evolved and can best be protected with ongoing climate change. He is currently the Director of the Research School of Biology and of the Centre for Biodiversity Analysis at ANU, with previous leadership positions at the University of California Berkeley and The University of Queensland. 

He has served on boards or advisory committees for the WA Biodiversity Science Institute, the Australian Academy of Science, the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute and the California Academy of Science, among others. Professor Moritz is an elected Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science and of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and is an emeritus ARC Laureate Fellow.
