Entry requirements: Coursework programs

To be considered for admission to a coursework program at ANU, you will need to meet the following minimum entry requirements. Places are strictly limited, so meeting the minimum entry requirements does not guarantee you a place.

Undergraduate minimum entry requirements

For admission into an undergraduate program at ANU, applicants must have:

  • either completed upper secondary studies to the required standard and recognised by ANU as comparable to Australian Year 12 or completed at least one year of tertiary study to the required standard; and
  • satisfied any further prerequisites or supplementary assessment for the program (e.g. design portfolio assessment); and
  • satisfied the English language requirements for admission.

If you have completed at least one year of accepted tertiary study, your secondary studies will not be considered except for determining if you have satisfied prerequisites.

Postgraduate minimum entry requirements

For admission into a postgraduate program at ANU, applicants must have:

  • completed a tertiary qualification to the required standard and recognised by ANU as comparable to an Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Level 7 Bachelor Degree or higher; and
  • satisfied any further prerequisites or supplementary assessment for the program (e.g. design portfolio assessment); and
  • satisfied the English language requirements for admission.
