Rethinking Leadership Development

Presented by ANU College of Arts & Social Sciences

Abstract

Leadership development has traditionally followed a one-size-fits-all model, often designed with White men in mind. This narrow approach can inadvertently overlook or marginalize the potential of leaders from diverse racial, gender, and cultural backgrounds. Yet, research consistently demonstrates that organizations thrive when leaders reflect a broad range of experiences and perspectives. In this seminar, we will explore different approaches to leadership development that create inclusive pathways for individuals from all backgrounds to step into leadership roles.
