SYNERGY: Tony Tuckson - drawing into painting, on exhibition at the ANU Drill Hall Gallery from April 21 to June 18. After his demise at the age of 52 in 1973, Tony Tuckson's stature has grown exponentially. His prolific output over a mere 30 years has been gradually revealed and continuously re-estimated. The works on paper in this exhibition are drawn from a residue in the Tuckson estate which has proved to be full of surprises. It shows Tuckson as an inexhaustible source of creative improvisation. A wealth of never exhibited works can be seen here for the first time, augmented by a selection of his finest paintings.
