Tributes & Legacies

This closing program for the season is all about the strength of legacy and the tributes it brought forth from each composer. We begin with a piano work by Ravel, created as a tribute to the early French composer Couperin which was then arranged beautifully for piano trio by American composer Matt van Brink. Mendelssohn incorporates his own tributes to the legacy left by Bach in his fiery and passionate second piano trio and we end the season with Schumann's glowing and soulful first piano trio with its inclusions of special personal significance for him of his wife, Clara Schumann. Natsuko and Richard are two stunning performers who will work together for the first time in this lustrous final program for the year.
