Toad Hall is a thriving on campus residence with a diverse community and a history of successful alumni. Among its 227 residents, roughly 35 countries are represented in the cohort of ‘Toadies.’  

It is unsurprising that Toad Hall’s biggest event of the year is its annual Multicultural Festival. With Toad Hall also celebrating its 50th anniversary, there is no doubt that this year’s bash will be bigger than ever. 

“It’s a free event which is very exciting. You will see performances from different countries. It is a great opportunity to witness the diverse cultures that other residencies may not have,” says senior resident Garry da Gama.

The late Deborah Bird Rose is a renowned anthropologist and environmental humanities scholar. Her book Dreaming Ecology explores a holistic understanding of the interconnections of people, country, kinship, creation and the living world within a context of mobility. It offers a telling critique of the loss of Indigenous life, human and non-human, in the wake of white settler colonialism and this becoming ‘cattle country’.

Mark your calendars – Research Portal Plus (RP+) will be open for preview on 3 June 2024.  

From this date, researchers will be able to review their profile and publication data and make any required changes before the launch of RP+ at the end of June. 

RP+ will replace the ARIES Publications module, the Researchers Pages, the CAP PURE Pilot and the CASS publications web tool.
