The rundown - information you need at a glance
|

- Consultation for the Socially Responsible Investment policy review opens 2 July until 17 July. ANU adopted the SRI in 2013, and we are seeking our community's feedback to help us continue to evolve and enhance the policy. Information on how to participate will be available in On Campus next week.
- Outgoing calls are still unavailable via ANU desk phones. We have escalated the issue to our service provider and hope to resolve it soon. If you need to make an emergency call, please use a mobile. ANU extension numbers can still be called, including ANU Security at x52249. Incoming calls remain unaffected. Didn't receive the ANUOK notification earlier about the issue? Download ANUOK app and ensure notifications are turned on.

Clever cockies: the social and innovative birds living in our cities
|
Surrounded by a crackle of sulfur-crested cockatoos (yes, that’s the collective noun), Dr Julia Penndorf sits on the grass holding a clipboard and a Tupperware container of seeds as the sun rises over ANU campus. It’s an adorable sight – but what is she up to?
Working on the Clever Cockie Project, Dr Penndorf from the ANU Research School of Biology is tracking all the odd but fascinating behaviours that Sydney and Canberra cockatoos get up to in urban environments.
The project has already found that cockies are adapting to living in cities in creative ways, including prising open garbage bins and backpacks, and wisely choosing human lunchtimes to forage in urban green areas.
