ITS notifications
ANU is a team player but Microsoft wasn’t playing ball on Friday. MS Teams and other MS services were down in a global outage, impacting ANU as well.
Did you know the ANU Service Desk will give you a heads up if something is wrong? Unless the network is down and we can’t access ANU webpages, ANU Service Desk will have a notification banner on their homepage alerting you to the issue. You can also log a job if you think there’s an issue with an ANU system. Check it out.
Sometimes, for example if an outage affects the ANU network, we may notify you via ANUOK so remember to download the app and make sure notifications are turned on. This will be one of our quickest ways to alert you even when other ANU systems are having problems – we use this channel for other critical and urgent campus notifications too.
Student and Safety Wellbeing latest updates
We’ve released the full action plan today. Since the release of the Student and Safety Wellbeing Plan in March, ANU has consulted with over 200 stakeholders, including students, to gather feedback and input for the full action plan. Read the full plan.
Starting tomorrow, ANU will trial the Residential Community Safety Officer pilot program across six Residences for now. The Officers will work in pairs and provide additional safety and support to residential students between 6pm and 6am, Wednesday to Saturday. The program will be assessed over the semester and may be expanded to all residences on campus in 2023.
The majority of new Residential students have completed our Enlivening Consent program – over 91% of the student evaluation feedback indicates they would recommend the program.
ANU Council will open EOIs for three student representatives for the new Student Safety and Wellbeing Committee. It’s another great way for students to have their say in how we deliver on our plan and student services.
In the lead up to the planned day of student advocacy on 1 August, we encourage you to read the full Plan including the work done since 2021.
