- During storm warnings, issued by the Bureau of Meteorology, parking stations on campus will be opened for shelter. However, there is no guarantee of a parking space. Should you park there, and are not a parking station permit holder, you must move your car immediately after the storm or before 8am the following day to avoid the possibility of receiving an infringement notice.
- While ACT Health has updated its COVID-19 guidance, you are still required to register your positive result with ANU through this online form.
- A fifth COVID-19 vaccine dose is now available. If you’re eligible for the vaccine, you can book an appointment to receive a FREE booster dose on campus at the University Pharmacy only. For more info, visit the Department of Health's vaccine booster advice.

Join the ANU LGBTIQA+ Ally Network
|
To mark and celebrate World Pride, find out how you can show your support for the ANU LGBTIQA+ community.
Q: What is the ANU LGBTIQA+ Ally Network?
A: It is a group of ANU staff and students committed to creating an inclusive and respectful environment for people who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer, and asexual.
Q: Who can become an ANU Ally?
A: Any staff member or student who is passionate about providing a safe and inclusive environment for LGBTIQA+ people can become an ANU Ally.
Q: What does an ANU Ally do?
A: After completing free training to become any ally, you will undertake a voluntary role that includes being a role model, raising the visibility of the ANU Ally Network, providing a confidential and safe environment for people to make enquiries, proactively addressing homophobic or heterosexist behaviour on campus, and actively seeking to extend their knowledge and understanding about the issues.
Q: What is the purpose of LGBTIQA+ Ally Training?
A: The 90-minute training session is free and available to all ANU students and staff and aims to equip participants with knowledge and skills to create an inclusive culture for all LGBTIQA+ staff and students and be an effective ally within the ANU community.
Q: What are the benefits of joining the ANU LGBTIQA+ Ally Network?
A: You will have access to training, events, and networking opportunities throughout the year, helping to create a diverse and inclusive campus where everyone can work and study free of harassment and discrimination.

ANU and Macquarie forge Australian-first agreement
|
In an Australian-first collaboration, alumni from ANU and Macquarie University are now eligible for reduced fees on postgraduate study at either institution. Both universities offer alumni postgraduate support schemes to help their graduates return to study and upskill. This 10 per cent fee waiver has now been extended to be available on a reciprocal basis.
The new fee waiver is just the first step of a partnership between ANU and Macquarie.

Canberra Campus Comedy Competition

The open mic comedy competition is now open to any students or staff from any Canberra based tertiary or Vocational Education providers including ANU, University of Canberra, Australian Catholic University Canberra and Canberra Institute of Technology.

Friends of the ANU Classics Museum invite you to the Annual General Meeting with an exciting talk by Dr Estelle Lazer, Honorary Research Associate in Classics and Ancient History at the University of Sydney. Held in the RSSS Auditorium, the event will be followed by refreshments in the Classics Museum.

Gareth Evans Oration delivered by Lord Chris Patten

The last Governor of Hong Kong, Lord Chris Patten will visit ANU next month to deliver in the Gareth Evans Oration for 2023.
Lord Patten will do an exclusive book signing before the Oration. The Hong Kong Diaries (2022) will be available for purchase.

Repairs to University House, the campus icon closed by the January 2020 hailstorm, are now underway in earnest. In the meantime, University House events continue at Rimmer St and the new Symposium wine bar will be opening soon in Kambri... stay tuned.

You may have noticed new QR code signage to the entrances of your buildings.
These QR codes are for the implementation of the new Sign in/Sign out procedures for all contractors that service ANU via Facilities and Services or through Schools/Colleges.

Services' fun fact for the week
In 2022, nearly 3000 queries were submitted to Ask a librarian. University Library staff spent almost 500 hours chatting with Library users to help them access electronic resources, find books, suggest new items and much more.
