Q: What is the ANU LGBTIQA+ Ally Network?  

A: It is a group of ANU staff and students committed to creating an inclusive and respectful environment for people who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer, and asexual.  

Q: Who can become an ANU Ally?  

A: Any staff member or student who is passionate about providing a safe and inclusive environment for LGBTIQA+ people can become an ANU Ally.  

Q: What does an ANU Ally do?  

A: After completing free training to become any ally, you will undertake a voluntary role that includes being a role model, raising the visibility of the ANU Ally Network, providing a confidential and safe environment for people to make enquiries, proactively addressing homophobic or heterosexist behaviour on campus, and actively seeking to extend their knowledge and understanding about the issues.  

Q: What is the purpose of LGBTIQA+ Ally Training?  

A: The 90-minute training session is free and available to all ANU students and staff and aims to equip participants with knowledge and skills to create an inclusive culture for all LGBTIQA+ staff and students and be an effective ally within the ANU community.  

Q: What are the benefits of joining the ANU LGBTIQA+ Ally Network?  

A: You will have access to training, events, and networking opportunities throughout the year, helping to create a diverse and inclusive campus where everyone can work and study free of harassment and discrimination.

Join the ANU Ally Network

In an Australian-first collaboration, alumni from ANU and Macquarie University are now eligible for reduced fees on postgraduate study at either institution. 
 
Both universities offer alumni postgraduate support schemes to help their graduates return to study and upskill. This 10 per cent fee waiver has now been extended to be available on a reciprocal basis. 

The new fee waiver is just the first step of a partnership between ANU and Macquarie.

These QR codes are for the implementation of the new Sign in/Sign out procedures for all contractors that service ANU via Facilities and Services or through Schools/Colleges.

Services' fun fact for the week 

In 2022, nearly 3000 queries were submitted to Ask a librarian. University Library staff spent almost 500 hours chatting with Library users to help them access electronic resources, find books, suggest new items and much more.
