Australian National Internship Program Endowment

The ANIP Endowment provides travel grants to students undertaking internships away from their normal place of residence.

The Australian National Internships Program (ANIP) has enabled undergraduate and postgraduate students with the opportunity to work at the heart of Australian policy and politics for over thirty years.

Interns develop policy and research skills while building professional networks in leading policy-making institutions in Australia and around the world. The ANIP program is the only university course recognised by the Federal Parliament of Australia to provide Commonwealth Parliamentary Internships. Students also intern undertake placements within government departments and agencies, at both state and commonwealth level, as well as with non-governmental organisations, peak industry bodies, think tanks, foreign embassies and diplomatic missions.

Entry to the ANIP program is based on academic merit, and each semester the ANIP Travel Grant provide opportunities for students to participate in the program from a diverse range of backgrounds, degrees and universities. There are distinguished alumni from the program at the highest levels of Federal and State government, in senior positions with international NGOs, universities across the world and the private sector in Australia.

Established under the umbrella of the Endowment for Excellence of The Australian National University, donations to the ANIP Endowment make a real difference and will enable students to participate in a program that its alumni describe as transformative to their careers. The research they undertake is on issues that make a difference in our global future, and their internship placements are across the organisations that shape society and government.
