New Year update and work arrangements

Message from the Vice-Chancellor
04 Jan 2022

Dear everyone,

Wishing you a very happy New Year. I'm looking forward to a much better 2022, despite the current Omicron wave, and I hope you are too.

January is a quiet time of the year at ANU, but with the Omicron variant of COVID sweeping through the country - and many of us feeling the impacts directly, or seeing family and friends infected - I encourage you to be extra vigilant.

ACT Health is recommending people work from home when possible and we encourage ANU staff to follow this advice in consultation with your supervisor. If you need to be in at work, each part of the University has a COVID-safe set of guidelines you are required to follow. These include wearing a mask in all indoor public spaces within University campuses (that is, areas people other than yourself use), as well as whenever in the same room as another person. We expect this regime to remain in place until 31 January 2022.

The campus does remain open, including retailers in the Kambri precinct and our libraries. Library opening hours can be found here.

Teams across the University are putting in place measures to enable ANU to remain safely open in 2022. We will provide more detailed information over the coming fortnight, and in the meantime, please stay safe.
