Public Health Direction for Greater Brisbane
Update - Monday 12 January at 2pm
Following a three-day lockdown to contain any potential spread of the UK variant of COVID-19, Queensland Health announced that the Greater Brisbane region will transition to eased restrictions at 6:01pm on Monday 11 January.
Here in the ACT, Greater Brisbane is no longer be classified as a COVID-19 affected area.
This means that both ACT residents and non-residents who have been in Greater Brisbane on or after 2 January 2021 are no longer required to quarantine in the ACT. While those people affected are not required to undertake a COVID-19 test upon leaving quarantine, they are reminded to continue to monitor for symptoms and get tested if they start to experience even the mildest of symptoms.
ACT residents currently in the Greater Brisbane Area will need to continue to follow the Queensland Health advice.

I want to provide a very quick update on the evolving situation in Brisbane and the impact on our community. My update will be brief as the information we have at this time is fairly limited.
The ACT Government has directed:
"From 3pm on Friday 8 January 2021, a Public Health Direction will be in place for Greater Brisbane requiring anyone in the ACT who has been in the COVID-19 affected areas of Greater Brisbane on or after 2 January 2021 to fill out a declaration form and immediately enter quarantine for 14 days from when you were last in Greater Brisbane."
Information for both ACT residents and non-ACT residents is available on the ACT Health COVID advice page.
We ask that all community members who are required to quarantine under this directive to please contact communitywellbeing@anu.edu.au with details of your travel between Brisbane and ACT.
In particular, please advise the Community Wellbeing Team if you have attended campus between arriving back in ACT from a COVID-19 affected area of Greater Brisbane and are going into quarantine. For example, if you spent New Year's Eve in Brisbane City, flew back to the ACT on Sunday 3 January and returned to work on campus on 4 January, please advise the Community Wellbeing Team of the times and days you were on campus and where on campus you visited.
We continue to support all staff who are required to work remotely to do so. Please discuss individual arrangements with your supervisor.
Please remember to get tested if you feel unwell and alert communitywellbeing@anu.edu.au if you have had a test and the result of that test when it's ready.
