Upload your draft

Uploading your work for ANU Academic Skills appointments

It can be really useful to have someone read your work, no matter how rough of a draft it is! During appointments with Academic Skills Learning Advisers and Writing Coaches, you are welcome to show us your drafts. For 45 minute appointments with Learning Advisers, you are warmly encouraged to upload your work on the morning of your appointment so that the Learning Adviser has time to review the draft. For 30 minute appointments with Writing Coaches, please upload your draft shortly before or during the appointment.

For written feedback and/or an appointment

If you have booked an appointment for written feedback only, or have booked a 45 minute appointment with an ANU Academic Skills Learning Adviser and you wish for your Learning Adviser to read your work before the appointment, please do the following:

  1. Use this link to go to the Academic Skills Appointents Wattle site (please note that this link will change each year).
  2. If this is your first time visiting the Wattle site, click "enrol me" to be able to enter the site.
  3. Scroll down to the section called "Upload your draft for your appointment".
  4. Click on the red and blue Turnitin button called "Upload your draft for your appointment" and follow the prompts to upload your draft. Please note there is only one space to upload your work, so if you'd like to send us multiple documents (e.g. your assignment instructions and your draft) please combine the files into one document. Also, we don't store the work on the Turnitin repository, so you won't get a text match to your own draft when you submit your final version to your course.

Resubmitting a draft

If you have a second or subsequent appointment with a Learning Adviser, please follow the same steps as above and submit your work in the same place as you did for your first appointment. Use the Reference document "How to upload a second or subsequent draft to the ANU Academic Skills Appointments Wattle site" on this page to help guide you.

Accessing your feedback after the appointment

You can also access the feedback after your appointment. For instructions on how to access and download your feedback, please see the PDF on this page titled "How to access and download comments from your appointment". Please note that since we see over 1,000 students each year, we have to keep the Wattle site as simple as possible and are unable to offer multiple submission spaces. If you wish to save your work and the comments from previous appointments, please download and save a copy following the instructions in the PDF on this page titled "How to access and download comments from your appointment".

We hope these instructions are helpful, and please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions. For more about what to expect in ANU Academic Skills appointments, depending on which type of appointment you have, please check out the information on appointments with Learning Advisers, Writing Coaches, or Drop-ins
