Vietnam field school

The emphasis of this course is on integrating formal learning with first-hand experience with in-country work will including fieldtrips, a village stay, language training, urban homestay, as well as formal classes given by staff from ANU and from the University of Da Nang.

The course focuses on experiencing and understanding the complex relationships between development and the environment. Students will have the opportunity to conduct group and individual research on such issues as the changing nature of rural lives, the relationship between the modern and traditional sectors, rural-urban migration, concepts of human well-being, and the social and environmental impacts of tourism.
