Paula has coordinated the elite entry research undergraduate degrees, the Bachelor of Philosophy(Hons), PhB, programs in Science since 2005 while teaching chemistry online to graduate students. Her research interests encompass undergraduate research opportunities and the benefits to both staff and students; the pedagogical impact of new learning spaces; web-enhanced learning; and ethics in the sciences.

Since commencing at ANU in 2003, Paula has contributed to a wide range of Science College governance committees as well as ANU committees such as the Coursework Admissions and Awards Committee, Discipline Appeals Panel, University Education Committee, Student Experience Committee and Academic Board. Paula is a Fellow at Bruce Hall and at Toad Hall and has an enduring interest in all aspects of the student experience.
