Guaranteed accommodation
ANU offers more homes to students on campus than any other Australian university, and a residential experience that's second-to-none.
You are guaranteed a home on campus if you're an interstate domestic undergraduate or international undergraduate student and you:
- receive and accept your offer to study at ANU within the advertised dates
- apply for accommodation before the advertised closing dates
- are commencing your first year of study at ANU, starting in your first semester, whether that is Semester 1 or 2
- are enrolling full-time.
We also keep up to 50 residential places available for local students from the ACT region.
ANU has eleven different residences for undergraduate students offering a range of catered, self-catered or apartment-style residences. All have laundry facilities, outdoor spaces and study rooms, and are within easy walking distance to shops, cafes, restaurants, sporting facilities, nightlife and public transport.
Our student residences offer comprehensive academic, social and pastoral support programs that truly help you make the most of your time at ANU. You'll make friends for life through shared experiences with your peers and neighbours and you will become part of an important support network, as you help each other through assessments and exams, and the ups and downs of life at university.
Our global ranking and reputation means that we attract staff and students from around the world, so even if you don't live-in you'll become part of a global community on campus.
Whatever your 'thing' is, you'll find it and others who share it within our student-run clubs and societies. You will meet people passionate about everything from social justice, Rugby and black holes to chocolate, Quidditch and gaming.
