Travelling to Canberra

Don't miss out on ANU Open Day because you're interstate. It's easy to get here and definitely worth the effort. Get the most out of Open Day and your trip with a little pre-planning.

Coming by car

Coming from Sydney? The drive will take you about three hours, give or take, on the Hume. There are plenty of 24/7 food and fuel joints on the highway for a pit stop.

From Melbourne, it will take you the best part of a day on the Hume.

Parking at ANU

Coming by bus

Sydneysiders, hop on a Murrays. One leaves from Central Station or Sydney Airport every hour.

You can also catch a Greyhound to Canberra from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide.

The bus will drop you at the Jolimont Centre. From there, it's a short walk to ANU.

Coming by train

Any day of the week, you can catch a train from Sydney to Canberra. Same goes for Melbourne.

Canberra Station isn't in town. It's in the inner-south suburb of Kingston and you'll need to get a taxi or an Uber from there to ANU.

Flying in

Qantas Airlines fly to Canberra from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.

Virgin Australia Airlines leave from all major Australian capital cities as well as the Gold Coast.

Other airlines fly direct to Canberra from Newcastle and Dubbo, and internationally from Singapore and Doha. Check your favourite travel booking website for available flights.

Getting to ANU from Canberra Airport

Taxi

Hail a cab from the terminal and you'll be at ANU in about 20 minutes. Uber also operate in Canberra.

Bus

Take a Route 3 bus from the airport to the City Interchange. It's about a 15-minute walk to ANU from there.
