Overseas Student Health Cover - Duration & Costs

It is a condition of an Australian student visa that the student holds valid overseas student health cover (OSHC) for the entire duration of their study in Australia. OSHC is a private health care arrangement which helps cover the costs of medical treatments should you get sick or have an accident.

FEE-HELP

The Higher Education Loan Program (HELP) is a loan scheme provided by the Australian Government to assist higher education students to meet the tuition costs of their studies.

FEE-HELP is a loan scheme that assists eligible fee-paying students to pay their tuition fees. FEE-HELP can cover all or part of a student's tuition fees. Over their lifetime, a student may borrow through FEE-HELP an amount up to the FEE-HELP limit (see below) to pay their tuition fees.

What is SSAF?

On 11 October 2011, the Australian Parliament passed legislation allowing universities and other higher education providers to charge a fee for student services and amenities of a non-academic nature.

SA-HELP

SA-HELP is part of the suite of HELP loans offered by the Australian Government. All Australian citizens and humanitarian visa holders enrolled in an award program will be eligible to defer their services and amenities fee (SA fee) debt in the same way as HECS-HELP and FEE-HELP.

Students may elect to pay the SA fee up-front as they may for their student contribution, or they may choose to defer the debt.

Sponsors

Many of the University's students are sponsored by a third party such as a university, government agency or employer.

Parents or any other individual cannot be registered as an official sponsor. Arrangements made between parents or individuals are considered to be a private arrangement and it is the responsibility of the student to ensure that their fees are paid on time.

Fee invoices

Invoices are generated weekly, generally on a Wednesday or Thursday. All invoices for tuition fees are issued to students via ISIS. It is very important that you check your ISIS account frequently to ensure you're aware of your financial obligations and due dates.

Invoices are the official notification indicating the amount students owe the University for tuition fees. All invoices are issued in Australian dollars.
